Sadly, not really.
I am busy creating some new greeting cards for the GCU page I have because after 30 days, my cards will simply be thrown into the main queue of ‘approvals’ and could take up to 4 weeks to be approved, so I am pretty much trying to make the most of that time to get as many designed as possible, as well as figure out ‘where to from here’. Now that I ‘get’ their new system though, things are moving along a bit quicker! YAY!
However I am continually inspired by watching the uploaded shows from “Put Some Colour In Your Life” – the latest one is just wonderful. If you like dogs AND painting – it might be of interest.
While I have had a bit of a play around with watercolours, I am still not sure it’s my thing, but it IS fun to try out something new and give it a go. As Nick says in the video – he loves the way that sometimes you have no control over what the paint/water will do, whereas in my past oil painting time it gives you a LOT of control. Perhaps something to dwell on going forward. I still have a stack of watercolour paper, and a few professional tubes of paint from my late mother in law – it could be sometime before I will be able to produce something as lovely as this. Time will tell!
Meanwhile, back on the ranch – summer is definitely gearing up. Lots of hot and humid days and today thinking it was not too humid to venture out and do some weeding, I was out there less than 20 minutes before I had two mosquito bites on my temple (now lumps), and two others to boot. I am definitely a mosquito magnet! Some of my roses are under attack from what I think are sawfly larvae and look like they have gone through some kind of nuclear blast. I know I should be more brutal and dig up some of the really old plants we have here, but I just hate doing it. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, right?
Anyway, my apologies for not being more prolific – a lot more going on than I need to share, but as soon as I have something worth posting – I will do so.
And for those that have never seen this one I did back in 2009 – one of a few watercolour and ink paintings I tried out.
Have a great week!
