The amazing Betty Dravis

When I shut down my old art blog, I made the mistake of NOT backing up any posts.. and so lost them. Here is where I redeem myself somewhat! If you had followed my old blog, you would have seen the digital painting I did for Betty from an old photo she had of herself with Clint Eastwood. It was pretty tough going as the photo was pretty small and obviously over the years had faded and like all our old photos and had been handled more than a few times. I did what I could and reconstructed Betty and Clint, but thought I would change the background, as the original was taken inside a room that had rather dark walls.

So above we have Betty posing next to the finished and printed painting, and below left, the painting itself.

Betty is quite the talented lady and is prolific on Twitter, Facebook, Amazon and in fact everywhere!

She is a fabulous author and has won many awards. If you’d like to check out some of Betty’s books then simply go here Betty Dravis Author.  As well as writing books, Betty also contributes to a wonderful blog – “Dames of Dialogue” which I was lucky enough to be featured on last year.  You can read my interview here and also check out many more.  Betty Dravis interviews Sally Rowland.  They have a great following and the articles are fun, informative and leaves you feeling you are also sitting there talking to each of the guests.

So what has Betty got in store for 2013?  Well there is the follow up to the “Six Pack Of Blood” book (co author Barbara Watkins) – aptly named “Six Pack Of Fear”, and then something else coming out that you will just simply have to wait for.  I was involved artistically with both of these projects and I am happy to have been asked.

I’ve only know Betty for a few years, but she is inspirational, generous, kind and loads of fun.  So feel free to check her out wherever you find her!

Wishing Betty and Barbara much success with Six Pack Of Fear and any other projects they both have in the pipeline.

Self taught artist back living in New Zealand after more than a decade of living in Canada. Starting over in more ways than one but always up for the challenge!
